Former prize home hits the market

LOCAL REAL ESTATE NEWS

A luxury home that was won as part of a $3.1 million prize package has hit the market in Kingscliff.

The 4-bedroom property at 84 Cylinders Drive was sold to Yourtown for $2.74 million in May 2022 and raffled off later that year.

Real estate agent Ty Van Der Meulen from Ray White Burleigh Group said the home, designed by Jason Pate, will be sold fully furnished with price expectations of $3 million.

“The current owners are former grape farmers from Western Australia. They were digging up potatoes when they got the call to say they had won. They didn’t expect anything. They said it was unreal,” Mr Van Der Meulen said.

“They were so, so grateful.”

Mr Van Der Meulen said the owners have visited and had a chance to enjoy the property but, given the distance to their WA home, have decided to sell.

When they haven’t been visiting, the house, known as “Mali”, has been listed as a holiday rental.

He said the Hamptons style beach house offers a “true coastal lifestyle” and would appeal to families or investors.

The property will be sold at Ray White Burleigh Group’s in-house auction event which starts at 5pm (QLD time) on 29 February at The Island Gold Coast in Surfers Paradise.
