TWEED Valley hospital opening date announced

The $723.3 million Tweed Valley Hospital will open its doors to patients on Tuesday 14 May 2024.

Minister for Regional Health Ryan Park announced the opening date this week, revealing that construction on the main hospital , health hub and multi-level car park is almost complete.

“This new facility will mean around 5,000 patients can be treated closer to home each year,” Mr Park said.

More than 650 jobs have been supported throughout the project, with around 75 per cent of workers being Tweed and Byron locals during the peak of construction.

Landscaping of the 19.4 hectare site and the construction of the single-level car park will be completed in the coming months.
