Meet Adam Wallace-Harrison from Loan Market Excel

IN THE SPOTLIGHT

Coastal Buys talks to Loan Market Excel Finance Broker Adam Wallace-Harrison about the benefits of using a mortgage broker and his views on the current market.

How long have you worked in the mortgage broking industry?

I’ve been a mortgage broker for nine years but involved in the finance industry in some capacity for 20 years. We opened our office in the local area back in 2017.

What services does Loan Market Excel offer?

We offer options for all styles of finance ranging from owner-occupied and investment loans, construction, pre-approval and first home buyers. We do a lot of work in the refinance and debt consolidation space, saving people thousands. Not to mention car loans, personal loans and equipment finance. Last but not least, we have a dedicated commercial and self-managed super fund (SMSF) specialist. So we pride ourselves on
being a one-stop shop for all your finance needs.

What do you enjoy most about helping people secure mortgages for property purchases?

Without a doubt, it’s the joy of helping customers enter the property market. Buying a property can be a long and overwhelming roller coaster of emotions for many. By talking to clients and gaining a clear understanding of their needs and objectives, we can start to map a plan so they have clear and tangible targets as to what they need to do to start their property journey.

“We really do live in the best place in Australia.”

What are some of the benefits of engaging a mortgage broker like Loan Market Excel?

Simply put, why wouldn’t you work with a mortgage broker? We work on behalf of the customer to review over 60 lenders’ products to ensure they are at the best possible rate with the most effective loan structure. We complete all the paperwork and submit the application on your behalf. It’s often the case that you don’t even have to speak to the lender at any stage of the process. With over 70 per cent of loans being written by mortgage brokers, it’s clear that dealing directly with a lender is quickly becoming a thing of the past.

What are your views on the current market for Kingscliff, Casuarina and Cabarita and expectations for the year ahead?

The word is out as to how special our area is. People no longer drive past us on the way to Byron. We’ve now become a desired destination. So, I believe we’re in for a strong year of growth locally off the back of interstate buyers entering our market, the opening of the Tweed Valley Hospital and the undersupply of housing.

What do you believe this area offers buyers?

Where do I start? We have some of the most amazing beaches and creeks, stunning hinterland bush tracks and waterholes on our doorstep, world class restaurants and local produce all with a very relaxed and hassle-free coastal community vibe. We really do live in the best place in Australia.

What are your favourite things to see and do in Kingscliff, Casuarina and/or Cabarita?

You must take advantage of our beautiful beaches with the Cove at Cabarita and Dreamtime Beach at Fingal Head being two of my favourites. Cudgen, Hastings and Pottsville creeks on high tide are stunning. Ensure you dine at any number of our local cafes or restaurants with Kartel Espresso, Tucker, Saltbean, Jordy’s and Fins being some of my favourites.
