Hinterland Sanctuary Owned By Rock Royalty Hits The Market

LOCAL REAL ESTATE NEWS

A home fit for Australian rock royalty is on the market, with Powderfinger’s lead guitarist Darren Middleton selling his six acre property at Farrants Hill in the NSW Northern Rivers region.

The six-bedroom masterpiece enjoys ocean and hinterland views and has been designed for ultimate luxury living and privacy.

Middleton bought the property at 22 Farrants Road, Farrants Hill in 2021 and has invested more than a million dollars on renovations.

Middleton was Powderfinger’s lead guitarist and songwriter from 1991-2010

Selling agent Greg Costello from Coastal Property Collective said the property was “extremely private” and would suit another rock star or a family who want space but still want to be close to everything.

"It has ocean views over Cabarita and Hastings," Mr Costello said.

"It is pretty amazing. It's built out of materials used in the Teneriffe Woolstores in Brisbane. It's got all these beautiful timbers running throughout the house."

Enjoying a tranquil hinterland setting, the unique home features soaring cathedral ceilings, a fireplace with a limestone feature wall, oak cabinetry, Taj Mahal Quartzite bench tops and a custom made Italian ‘Ilve’ oven.

Middleton describes the garden as a “magical wonderland” with a spring-fed dam, organic vegetable garden, one kilometre of walking tracks, resort style pool, as well as fireflies in winter and an abundance of butterflies in spring. The property is also home to nesting wedgetail eagles and kites.

Middleton is packing up his guitar and relocating to Melbourne to be closer to family.

The property has a price guide of high $3 million to $4 million.
